Designed and ran human studies integrating MEG, EEG, eye-tracking, and behavioural tasks to assess neural correlates of attention, learning, and perception.

Kernel

What

Human validation studies on Kernel Flux: participants performing cognitive tasks while MEG was recorded in real time, with EEG, eye-tracking, and behavioural measures alongside, to establish that the system captured meaningful neural signal rather than a well-behaved noise floor.

Why it mattered

A magnetometer array can pass every bench test and still fail the only question that matters: does it record the brain? Task-locked responses in real participants are the proof, and they are also what turns a hardware programme into something a neuroscientist outside the company will believe.

My role

Co-owned the acquisition environment and ran participant studies pairing cognitive tasks with real-time MEG.

Outcome

The studies confirmed that the system captured clinically meaningful neural signals during natural human experience.
